Anton Lukoszevieze moves across this loop with a practiced instability – between cello and camera, score and image, composition and field recording. Based between Vilnius and London, he works as a cellist, composer, and visual artist whose practice unfolds like an pile of traces rather than finished statements.

A central figure in contemporary experimental music, Lukoszevieze is the founder and director of Apartment House – an ensemble that has, over decades, mapped the edges of avant-garde composition and was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for its contribution to new music. His performances have taken place across key international venues, from London’s Wigmore Hall to BBC Maida Vale Studios, while his recordings continue to circulate through independent experimental labels such as The Trilogy Tapes.

In parallel, his visual work extends the logic of listening into seeing. In his recent solo exhibition DISTRICT at VDA Gallery Artifex in Vilnius, curated by Paulina Pukytė, everyday walks through the Naujamiestis district were transformed into a dense archive of photographs, objects, and sound fragments as a kind of psycho-geographic score of the city rendered through attention and delay.

His recent solo album Le Jardin des Plantes continues this drift: a work where cello, memory, and urban observation dissolve into one another, less as narrative than as residue. Alongside it, his amplified drawings and photographic processes operate as extensions of performance: gestures that refuse to settle into a single medium.
